The GenTAC Alliance Basic and Translational Science Working Group held a webinar titled, “Sexual Dimorphism in Thoracic Aortic Disease,” on February 8, 2024. 

In this webinar, speakers presented evidence of sexual dimorphism in heritable thoracic aortic disease in both animal models and humans. The following topics were covered:

• “Mechanisms of sex-based differences in experimental aortopathies,” presented by Lisa A. Cassis, PhD, University of Kentucky (USA)
• “The impact of sex on aortic disease in Marfan syndrome: Of mice and (wo)men,” presented by Patrick Sips, PhD, Ghent University (Belgium)
